When Work to Play teams from Greene, Pasteur, Reavis, and Kozminski arrived at Chicago Indoor Sports for Game Day on May 6, they received a warm welcome from volunteers from William Blair. The kids and volunteers warmed up with a game of Fox Tails before getting into smaller groups for scrimmages.
The first assignment for each team was the creative task of coming up with a team name. The students rose to the challenge spectacularly, and the newly-christened teams–including “Coach E”, “The Crew”, and the “Reavis Wizards”–took to the field, ready to play.
The players kicked off each scrimmage by introducing themselves to teams from other schools. Buoyed by pointers and encouragement from their Corporate Coaches, players practiced their soccer skills, displayed their competitive sporting spirit, and, most importantly, had a ton of fun!
Thank you to William Blair’s team of Corporate Coaches for spending the afternoon with our Work to Play students and helping to make Game Day a great success!
