On Saturday September 3rd, Urban Initiatives was invited by the Meyer Racing and Meyer Sprint for Charities team for a night out at the race track to watch some awesome sprint car racing. The UI team rode to Wisconsin in style to watch Meyer Racing driver, Todd Lehr, on the track in the number 16 car.
The night got better when Meyer Racing presented our Co-founder and Executive Director, Jim Dower, with a $500 check to support Urban Initiatives. “It’s great to see Meyer Racing and the racing world embrace our goal of using sport for social change.”Meyer Sprint for Charities is a program that allows Meyer and its employees to give back to our communities. Racing enables them to reach out to communities beyond they’re Libertyville home and give back to charities that have done so much for so many. We had an absolute blast at the event and we are so grateful to the Meyer Racing and Meyer Sprint for Charities team for their generosity and for organizing such an incredible time for the UI team!
