A Spooktacular Time at Urban Initiatives’ 8th Annual Halloween Bash

Urban Initiatives had an awesome turn out for the junior board hosted annual halloween Bash at estAte ultra Bar on friday, October 25th.

With creepy black and white films reeling on surrounding flat screens, the venue was filled with reveling partygoers. Tickets were sold out early that Friday and the place was packed with UI Supporters in their hilarious, creepy & creative Halloween Best.

Guests pulled out all the stops and the creativity was at an all time high. Costumes included The Village People, The cast of Wizard of Oz, Ninja Turtles, Benny the Bull, Superman, Paul Bunyan & Babe the Blue Ox and many, many more. The costume contest had some heated competition as well – we tried something new this year and picked 5 finalists that were ultimately chosen by guests voting for them by putting money in a designated bucket.
The finalists included first place finishers Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head, 2nd Place “Living Trophies,” and “Carrie” in third place, with Heisenberg from Breaking Bad & A deer in headlights rounding out the competition.
The event raised $6,700 and the outcome was superb. The great showing in attendance is a great sign for capturing a new audience to be involved with UI and attend the Soccer Ball on January 24, 2014!
