Kevin attended Mount Carmel High School in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood. He then went downstate to Bloomington Illinois where he was a student at Illinois State University.
His favorite part of Chicago is Blues Fest weekend. He is drawn to working with UI because of the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Chicago kids through healthy habits such as being active and eating healthier. As a kid Kevin grew up playing basketball, golf, volleyball and ultimate Frisbee. His most embarrassing moment came in 4th grade basketball when he got the rebound of a free throw of the opposing team and scored in the wrong basket. This event is something he still hears about from his older brother.
The one thing Kevin hopes to accomplish as a PA this year is to make long lasting relationships with not only the students but with the teachers, staff, and faculty at each of his schools. Kevin’s advice to his younger self is to not sweat the small stuff and to remember to smile everyday because that’s what being a kid is about!
