While Coach Jett was characteristically modest in her speech, we would like to share a quote from a source close to her at Morton School:

“Faye goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure her students have the things they need. She is consistently incredible.”

The award ceremony was a part of the three-day Up2Us National Summit in D.C.  Senior Program Associate Tom LaClair represented Urban Initiatives at the action-packed summit.  Other highlights of the summit included:

  • Capitol Hill visits with Congressmen and Congresswomen to discuss the importance of sports-based youth development work.
  • Federal Policy Roundtable featuring leaders in the sports-based youth development movement.
  • Day-long brainstorm and best-practice sharing between Federal agencies and Up2Us members in areas such as health, education, national service, and securing playspace.
