UI Soccer Pathway at Clay Elementary

Urban Initiatives (UI) Soccer offers a range of programs designed to support students from Pre-K through 8th grade, helping them grow both on and off the field.

Their Pre-K through 1st Grade Soccer program introduces young learners to the game through fun, play-based activities. At this stage, the focus is on developing basic soccer skills while also nurturing social-emotional growth, teamwork, and confidence.

The Play with Potential soccer program serves 2nd through 4th grade students, providing a space for participants to continue building their soccer abilities while strengthening listening, communication, and social skills. Through structured practices and games, students learn discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.

For older students, Take the Lead empowers 5th through 8th graders to step into leadership roles as team captains. Many of these students previously participated in OST and now build on their experience by developing captain skills, mentoring younger players, and learning what it means to lead both on and off the field.

“My favorite part is being with all my friends playing soccer and going on the bus to game days! ”

Urban Initiatives believes that play is powerful. By offering programs across multiple age groups, UI creates a pathway for students to grow year after year – developing not only as soccer players, but as confident leaders and the best student-athlete versions of themselves.
