The 14th Annual Urban Initiatives Halloween Bash was a huge success. For the third straight year, Chop Shop and 1st Ward Events welcomed us back to not only have a ton of fun but to support UI’s sports-based youth development programming. Over 400 friends joined us for what some call, “The best Halloween party in Chicago” helping us raise $10,000.
The UI Associate Board led the charge in getting their friends excited for the one-of-a-kind event by selling a ton of tickets. The night kicked off earlier than usual with some guest showing up to catch the Chicago Cubs in Game 3 of the MLB World Series. Once the crowd began to swell, DJ Emilio dropped the beat and began spinning hit after hit until the dance floor spilled into the next room. The night also included a costume contest with over 20 entries that included cast members of Stranger Things, Stretch Armstrong, and Mario Party. So many awesome costumes entered, our judges had a tough time voting for the best and most creative costumes.
The top 6 costumes of the night were Sia, Ryan Lochte with Brazilian Police Officer, Jack Sparrow, La Croix, Passport and the winners Hey Arnold! They all had their choice of some awesome prizes that included killer seats at a Chicago Bulls and Chicago Bear game, a City Winery experience, and a Storck Candy Basket featuring some of the finest chocolate in the world. The UI team would like to thank everyone that came out and supported the 14th Annual Halloween Bash. A special thank you goes out to the UI Associate Board and the Executive Committee, all of the amazing staff at Chop Shop and 1st Ward Events, UI volunteers, and Lou Malnati’s for donating over 25 deep dish pizzas to help feed our hungry guests!
See everyone next year at the 15th Annual Halloween Bash!
