The goal of the Urban Initiatives Physical Education Student/Athlete Health and Character Program (UIPE) is to promote the values of academic engagement, health education, physical fitness, character development, and the knowledge of proper sports techniques to students enrolled in Kindergarten through eighth grade in the Chicago Public Schools. Overall, the program aims to incorporate these values into school culture by training the Physical Education teachers to incorporate our health and character curriculum into their everyday lessons. Ultimately the goal is to give the student/athletes the tools necessary to succeed in life.
This year marks the pilot of this program. We are thrilled to be offering support to Johnson, Libby, Prieto, Reavis and Walsh schools.
